President Erica Van Dommelen called the meeting to order at 9:15 pm at Alexis and Doll Gilliland's house.

Committee Reports:

Publications passed out the July WSFA Journal.

The treasurer reported $4,447.76.

The trustees didn't pass out or report anything.

Disclave Past: Money is still going in and coming out. The hotel said they were very pleased with the con, and they have no complaints about us.

Disclave Future: Eva Whitley is still talking to hotels. She is finding them rather expensive.

Discon III: Absolutely nothing to say.

Entertainment: Unicon is next week. A preview of the movie the Abyss may occur in August.

The Committee to Spend lots of Money on Something Extremely Controversial and Expensive: Chairfan John Pomeranz reported that during the Hugo ceremony at Worldcon in Boston, we're going to sponsor a fireworks display--in the ballroom itself. More details to come later.

Old Biz: No.

New Biz: Joe Mayhew proposed that the Discon III committee should no longer make a regular report at every meeting. The motion was seconded. It passed 19 to 10 by a hand vote.

Announcements: North Lilly has a glass kiln that needs a 220-volt electric outlet to operate. If you have such an outlet, North will share use of the kiln and even give lessons. Steven Fetheroff has a new address: [censored], Arlington, VA 22204. Lance Oszko got a raise and a promotion. Thomas Disch will be teaching an SF writing class at Johns Hopkins in the fall. Walter said "WOW!" Crystal Hagel and Pat Paul have a room in the Hilton for Noreascon; they need roommates. Call 946-4568.

The meeting adjourned at 9:37.

Committee Reports

The Secretary asked for address and phone corrections from people. The Treasurer reported $4239.09.

Disclave Past: We had 386 first time Disclave goers this year. The book is still selling and we should at least break even.

Disclave Future: No report.

Discon III: Meeting at Peggy Rae's on the 30th to plan the Going-out-of-Bidness party.

Entertainment: We'll have a chance to see the Abyss, most likely Auuugust 3. If interested see a Gilliland.

Old Biz: None

New Biz: Where will 3rd Friday in August be? It will be at Jack Heneghan and Elaine Normandy's.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mike Sinclair is starting a bid for Moscow in '95. Motto: "Just say da to Moscow." Someone suggested "Moscow--it's one big party." Don't eat Domino's pizza, they support antiabortion people. There will be a rehearsal for "Smoflahoma." Mary Morman is in the British Isles. Steven Fetheroff has moved! Naomi Ronis has moved too! (Her new phone is 301/578-1469.) Unicon was lots of fun, and they thanked heartily the WSFAns who helped.

Meeting adjourned at 9:33, which is too soon. We didn't have enough fun. We didn't talk enough. Let's it get together, everybody, and make more motions! But keep it in mind that our Prez disagrees with this notion.
