People arrive from 8:30 to 9:00 pm. The meeting itself lasts from about 9:15 until 9:45. The rest of the evening is spent socializing, and consuming the provided refreshments. The last people drift away between midnight and 1:00 am.
From the Beltway, take the Kenilworth Avenue exit, exit 23, North. At the first light (Crescent Road) turn right. Take the second left, onto Lastner Lane. At crest of hill, turn left onto Julian Court.
Exit the Greenbelt Metro station (on the Green line) through the front. (Not through the back tunnel as you would to get to the Ginters'.) You'll find yourself in an enormous parking lot. Be sure to turn left as you exit the station, rather than trying to cut through the parking lot. Turn left on Cherrywood Lane. Turn right on Kenilworth Avenue. Turn left on Crescent Road. Take the second left, onto Lastner Lane. At crest of hill, turn left onto Julian Court.
It's about 40 minutes on foot or 15 minutes by bike from the Metro station. (Bikes are allowed on Metro after 7 pm. Permits are no longer required.) The last train leaves Greenbelt at 2:30 am on Friday night/Saturday morning.
The R12, T16, and T17 buses come within a third of a mile. They leave from Deanwood and New Carrollton on the Orange Line, and from College Park and Greenbelt on the Green Line. Go to http://www.wmata.com/ and put 102 JULIAN CT. in the "Travel To" field for more details. It's not possible to return by bus, but someone will be willing to drive you back to Metro.
