CAPCLAVE

2003

November 21 - 23, 2003

Celebrating the Short Story in Science Fiction

Capclave 2003 is over. As chair, I would like to thank the con committee for all their hard work, Lee Gilliland who bravely stepped in to run the con suite when both heads got sick, the many WSFAns and others who volunteered to help out, our guests who entertained everyone, and especially William Tenn who proved to be an inexhaustible fount of stories and memories of the golden age of SF.

In 2003, the place to be, is the con near DC: Capclave 2003

Featuring our Guest of Honor

William Tenn

Known for his bitter satires and wonderfully ironic comic short stories, William Tenn is one of the giants of the Golden Age of Science Fiction.

From the Washington Science Fiction Association, the people who brought you Disclave, Capclave 2003 will feature all the fun of 2002's Capclave plus lots more. Capclave will include the popular WSFA mix of thought-provoking panels and some of the field's leading writers with a friendly, low-key approach that leaves lots of time for conversation with old friends and for meeting new ones.

We are modeling this year's convention on last year's highly successful Capclave. We will have some more space so will have even more fun. Like last year, we will focus on short stories in science fiction and fantasy. This means we will feature:

 [WSFA logo]

  • Literary discussions with authors

  • Dealer's room
  • Con suite
  • Parties
  • Readings by authors
  • Science presentations
  • Space to meet and talk
  • Special surprises and a
  • Relaxed atmosphere.

The program is available.

We'll also try to find room for other activities such as gaming, filking, local club meetings, etc. Inquire at space@capclave.org.
